Yi He, one of the founders of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, spoke about the situation of the former CEO Changpeng Zhao.
Speaking at Binance’s event in Dubai, Yi He said that Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao is in a “positive situation” in the United States.
She said that Zhao is “largely peaceful” before his trial on April 30, and that he had previously expected the “legal pressures” that Binance was facing.
Zhao, one of the founders of Binance, agreed to pay a $50 million fine and step down as Binance CEO last year to settle charges of money laundering and violation of sanctions laws in the United States.
Prosecutors in the United States are seeking a longer sentence for Zhao, who could face up to 18 months in prison.
