On April 20th, Peter Schiff angered investors with his statement following the Bitcoin halving.
In his statement, the economist targeted Bitcoin investors, asking “Are you celebrating tonight? Are you throwing parties?” He warned that the halving will soon cause a halving of investors’ net assets:
“Congratulations to those who are celebrating the halving. Are you throwing parties tonight? I haven’t been invited to any. I think halving is an appropriate name for what is about to happen to Bitcoin investors — a halving of their net worth.”
Frequently making anti-Bitcoin statements, the economist recently suggested a potential sell-off from institutional investors, stating that the Bitcoin price could start to decline.
