In a social media post on April 20, Peter Schiff angered investors with his remarks about Bitcoin halving.
In his statement, the economist targeted Bitcoin investors, asking “Are you celebrating tonight by throwing a party?” He warned that the upcoming halving would cut investors’ net assets in half:
Congratulations to the Bitcoin halving. Are you celebrating tonight by throwing a party? I haven’t been invited to any. I think halving is a fitting name for what’s about to happen when Bitcoin investors soon experience their net worth being halved.
Frequently drawing attention with his anti-Bitcoin statements, the economist recently suggested a potential sale by institutional investors, stating that the Bitcoin price could start to decline.
