The National People’s Congress of China has called for the acceleration of blockchain development in the country.
According to China News, Dong Jin, a member of the National People’s Congress, recently spoke about blockchain technology at the “Two Sessions” event.
Dong, who manages a national blockchain research center in Beijing, emphasized the need for China to accelerate its activities and infrastructure development in the blockchain field.
He also mentioned that due to the country’s growing digital economy, it produces a significant amount of data and blockchain technology could help facilitate these operations.
Highlighting the secure, transparent, and privacy-focused aspects of blockchain technology, he emphasized that widespread adoption of such a technology could make many transactions easier. He argued that China should establish a national blockchain network covering the entire country and connecting the world as soon as possible.
Currently, China continues to enforce bans on cryptocurrency trading and mining.
