A giant crypto whale has sprung into action for Ethereum (ETH) after 3 years of silence.
According to data reported by on-chain analysis platform Spot On Chain, a whale that has been inactive for 3 years woke up on March 6th.
Following this long-awaited awakening, the whale transferred 10,000 Ethereum worth $39 million to the crypto exchange Bitfinex. This transfer was interpreted as a preparation for a potential sale.
Back in January 2021, the whale had purchased 110,000 Ethereum worth $153 million at a cost of $1,386. After this recent transfer, the whale is left with 100,000 Ethereum worth $385 million in their wallet, resulting in an average profit of around $270 million.
According to CoinGecko data, Ethereum has seen a 4% increase in the last 24 hours and is currently trading at $3,897.
