Peter Schiff angered investors with his remarks on social media on April 20 regarding the Bitcoin halving.
In his statement on the matter, the economist targeted Bitcoin investors, asking, “Are you celebrating tonight with a party?”. He made a veiled warning by stating that the Bitcoin halving would soon result in halving investors’ net assets:
Congratulations to the Bitcoiners on the halving. Are you celebrating tonight with parties? I wasn’t invited to any of them. I think halving is an appropriate name for what is about to happen, as soon, Bitcoin investors will experience a halving of their net assets.
The economist, who often attracts attention with his anti-Bitcoin statements, recently claimed that a possible sell-off by institutional investors could start a collapse in the Bitcoin price.
