Core Scientific, one of the largest Bitcoin (BTC) mining companies, has revealed the amount and details of Bitcoin it produced last year.
Based in Texas, USA, Core Scientific announced on March 12th the amount of Bitcoin it produced last year. The company, which was bankrupt last year, announced that it mined 19,274 Bitcoins valued at $1.4 billion.
The statement pointed out that 13,762 of the mined Bitcoins were allocated for their own accounts, while the remaining amount was spent on bankruptcy proceedings and other operational expenses.
The company declared it had emerged from bankruptcy earlier this year and emphasized it would continue its operations in accordance with various regulations.
Adam Sullivan, the CEO of Core Scientific, who made a statement about the issue, mentioned that despite all the challenging financial conditions, they produced more Bitcoin than all other miners in North America in 2023:
In 2023, Core Scientific produced more Bitcoin than all other listed miners in North America. We emerged from our restructuring stronger, more focused, and more productive, and we have a plan for self-mining growth of more than 20 exahashes.
