Core Scientific, one of the biggest Bitcoin (BTC) mining companies, has revealed the amount and details of Bitcoin it produced last year.
Based in Texas, USA, Core Scientific announced on March 12th the amount of Bitcoin it mined last year. The company, which was bankrupt last year, announced that it mined 19,274 Bitcoins worth $1.4 billion.
The statement indicated that 13,762 of the mined Bitcoins were reserved for its own accounts, while the rest was used for bankruptcy payments and other operational expenses.
The company had announced earlier this year that it had emerged from bankruptcy and would continue its operations under various regulations.
Core Scientific CEO Adam Sullivan commented on the matter, stating that despite all the difficult financial conditions, they produced more Bitcoins than all other miners in North America in 2023:
In 2023, Core Scientific mined more Bitcoin than any other miner listed in North America. We emerged from our restructuring as a stronger, more focused, and more productive company, and we have a plan for growth of more than 20 exahashes of self-mining.
