Famous economist Peter Schiff, also known as the “Gold Bug,” issued a warning after the Bitcoin halving.
In his social media post on April 20th, Peter Schiff sparked outrage among investors with his comments on Bitcoin halving.
In his statement, the economist took aim at Bitcoin investors, asking, “Are you celebrating tonight by throwing a party?” He issued a veiled warning, saying that the halving will soon result in a halving of investors’ net assets:
“Congratulations to the Bitcoiners for the halving. Are you celebrating tonight by throwing a party? I haven’t been invited to any. I think the halving is an appropriate name for what’s about to happen, as Bitcoin investors will soon experience a halving of their net worth.”
Frequently making anti-Bitcoin statements, the economist recently suggested that potential selling by institutional investors could lead to a collapse in the Bitcoin price.
