CommEx, which runs Binance’s operations in Russia, has decided to halt its activities.
The cryptocurrency exchange CommEx, which runs Binance’s operations in Russia, announced that it will gradually suspend its operations.
In an official statement by the exchange, it was stated that as of March 25th, they will not accept new user registrations on Binance, and fund transfers made through Binance will also be suspended.
Furthermore, from March 28th, opening futures positions will also not be allowed. It was emphasized that any futures positions not closed by April 18th will be automatically closed on that date.
Officials announced that the official website of CommEx will be closed on May 10th, urging users to withdraw their cryptocurrency assets by that date. The reason behind the sudden decision of the exchange remains unknown.
Binance had announced on its official blog page on September 27, 2023, that it would completely withdraw from Russia. The announcement stated that an agreement had been signed to sell Binance’s business in Russia entirely to the local cryptocurrency exchange CommEx.
