Crypto thieves are publishing fake ads on the Etherscan site to empty investors’ wallets.

Crypto followers have learned that malicious ads are being published on Etherscan, one of the most popular coin sites.

The ads, which redirect people to fake sites when clicked, are designed to steal the cryptocurrencies in investors’ wallets.

According to research by Scam Sniffer, the thieves are targeting Etherscan users through platforms such as Google, X, Bing, DuckDuckGo.

On the fake sites that people are redirected to, investors are asked to connect their cryptocurrency wallets. Once connected, the thieves can empty the wallet without the user’s approval.

Attacks like these in the cryptocurrency field have led to the theft of approximately $300 million last year.
