Wormhole, a $2.5 billion cross-chain protocol, announced that it will be conducting an airdrop.
The Wormhole team stated that the airdrop will take place on March 6th and shared a website for users to check their eligibility for the airdrop.
The total supply of the token named “W” is 10 billion, with an initial circulating supply of 1.8 billion. According to the announcement, 6.1% of the total supply, or 617 million W tokens, will be distributed as an airdrop to a total of 397,704 wallets.
The W token will initially be launched on the Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) networks in an integrated manner.
The team stated that the W token will bring more decentralization to the Wormhole ecosystem and will be used for community voting and critical decision-making.
This Wormhole airdrop is designed to acknowledge and reward contributions from the special users and developers of multi-chain applications built on Wormhole, as well as community members who play an important role in development and participation in the Wormhole ecosystem.
